The Vault
VLT: Security Through Immutable Preservation
What It Is
Hash-chained storage with jurisdiction-aware retention.
Overview
Records are only as good as the vault that holds them. VLT is a hash-chained, time-locked, and geographically distributed preservation substrate. Every rtfct filed into VLT is cryptographically linked to the entry preceding it, creating an unbroken chain of custody. Every retention window is jurisdiction-aware and dynamically calculated: 1,095 days is the statutory floor, not the ceiling. Self-signed attestations are generated automatically upon demand, making court-ready evidentiary exports accessible in a single click.
Technical Specification & Key Features
- Hash-Chained Immutability
- Uses SHA3-256 cryptographic linkage where every record incorporates the header hash of the previous record, preventing retroactive record injection or deletion.
- Jurisdiction-Aware Retention
- Time-locked preservation engines mapped directly to statutory deadlines (EU AI Act high-risk systems, US state AI frameworks, UK post-Brexit rules).
- Automated Self-Signed Attestations
- The system generates automated cryptographic proof-of-custody certificates verifying unbroken vault storage since time of generation.
- Court-Ready Export Engine
- Export complete evidentiary packages across PDF, JSON, and CSV formats with embedded verification hashes and digital signatures.
- Geographically Distributed Fault Tolerance
- Multi-region, multi-cloud cryptographic distribution preventing single points of failure, data corruption, or single-jurisdiction seizure.
Evidentiary Use Cases
- Litigation Support
- Produce unalterable, time-stamped record sets during formal legal discovery to establish strict adherence to duty of care.
- Regulatory Audit Response
- Generate immediate, verifiable compliance dockets for inspection by the FTC, state Attorneys General, or EU national competent authorities.
- Long-Term Model Lineage
- Maintain permanent institutional memory across multiple generations of proprietary or open-source LLM deployments.
